The Argentine classic reinvented: Creole steak

– 4 thick beef steaks (approximately 400 grams in total)
– 1 large onion
– 1 red pepper
– 1 green pepper
– 2 medium ripe tomatoes
– 3 cloves of garlic
– 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
– 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
– Salt and black pepper to taste
– Olive oil (for frying)

This dish prepared for four people has a total of 440 kcal per serving.

Step-by-step recipe:

1. We start by cutting the peppers and onion into long, thin strips and the tomatoes into large cubes. Chopped garlic.

2. In a large frying pan, heat a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat and add the peppers and onion. Sauté for 5 minutes until softened.

3. Remove the vegetables from the pan and set aside. In the same pan we add another tablespoon of oil, increase the heat and brown the steaks, 1-2 minutes on each side. We use salt and pepper to season the meat to taste.

4. Lower the heat, add the tomatoes, garlic and a tablespoon of sweet paprika. We stir well and let it cook for 5-7 min. Everything covered.

5. We let the meat rest for a few minutes before serving along with the sautéed vegetables and the delicious stew. We serve hot along with a good Argentine red wine.
